Creative Blast
The City / Project story 02

Sketch a world.
Then walk through it.

From a quick sketch to scenery that surrounds visitors. For The City, Creative Blast developed the visual interpretation of Moos Studioos' concept and contributed ideas along the way. Minigolf, laser tag, VR and pétanque took shape in design sketches brought to life by set builders.

01 / The eye-catcher

From pencil line
to centrepiece.

A Volkswagen projecting above the Happy Highway: even in the sketch, it is a defining feature of the space. In the completed venue, scenery, colour and light give the design a life of its own.

02 / The sketch as a starting point

Quickly sketched.
Clearly communicated.

The sketches are quick and direct. They reveal the atmosphere, structure and main elements of a space, giving the set builders a tangible starting point.

Creative Blast developed the different environments and contributed ideas for their content. From the minigolf courses and highway to the laser tag, VR and pétanque areas: each space gained its own identity within The City's world.

03 / From sketch to atmosphere

A world of their own.
Right into the scenery.

The laser tag environment also received a distinctive direction. Sketches and a developed atmosphere visual show how façades, vehicles, colour and light can combine to form a setting.

The drawings establish the direction; the set builders translate it into materials, structures and details in the physical space.

04 / The result

From drawing
to experience.

In the finished venue, the lines of the sketches become real façades, streets and meeting places. The set builders developed the designs with great care. Lighting adds another layer of atmosphere.

The combination of design and craftsmanship makes it special: visitors do more than look at scenery; they move right through it.

Collaboration

A strong idea.
Realised together.

Moos Studioos created the concept. Creative Blast contributed ideas, developed the design and translated the concepts into visual sketches. The set builders then turned them into a physical world.

The City in ’s-Gravenzande brings activities, food and drink together in one venue. This project selection shows how design and realisation strengthen one another.
